Your body is thanking you! ๐Ÿ™

Hi Loo Movement friends,

Thanks to those who joined me for the Neck, Shoulder & Mid Back Workshop!

I hope you left feeling a little taller, a little more spacious, and with a better understanding of why your neck, shoulders, and upper back sometimes feel the way they do.

One of my favorite things about this work is that small changes can make a surprisingly big difference. The goal isnโ€™t to force your body into โ€œperfect posture,โ€ but to develop a better sense of alignment, recognize your own compensations, and learn how to give your body the support it needs.

Tips to keep benefits going:

You donโ€™t have to do a full practice every time. Start by noticing. When youโ€™re at your computer, looking at your phone, working out, or even just standing in line, check in:

  • Where is my head?

  • What are my shoulders doing?

  • Can I create a little more space through my neck and upper back?

Then use one of the Counter-shapes we practiced to reset.

The more often you notice and make these small adjustments, the more familiar better alignment becomes.

And remember: the goal isnโ€™t to โ€œholdโ€ yourself in good posture. Itโ€™s to create the mobility and stability that allow good alignment to happen more naturally.

Whatโ€™s next?

My workshops are designed to give you the kind of focused attention and deeper understanding that we simply canโ€™t always get in a regular class. Each one explores a different piece of the puzzle, so you can continue building your body awareness and making your practice more effective.

If you enjoyed going deeper into the why behind the movements, I hope youโ€™ll check out another workshop in the future. Office Hours is another way to go deeper and get specific help with your Counter-shapes! The next one is on Friday Sept 18th at 12:00pm. There are two spots left!

Keep an eye out for upcoming workshops and Office Hour pop-ups. Iโ€™d love to see you there!

P.S. If you know anyone who seems aligned with this work and who could benefit from it, feel free to pass this newsletter on.

Office hours is the perfect setting to practice what you learn in workshops! The next one is in just a few weeks:

๐ŸŽ‰ September Office Hours Pop-Up ๐ŸŽ‰

  • Friday Sept 18th at 12:00pm (only two spots left!)

  • Loo Movement Studio

  • Capped at 4 students

The format of Office Hours:

In this special event, I move around the room to help each student with exactly what you want to work onโ€”with more time for personal tips and attention than a regular class. You can come in with a general focus (i.e. hips and ankles), or have a few specific Counter-shapes in mind. Come with your curiosity, and we can take it from there!

The added bonus of Office Hours is receiving personalized feedback in a small-group setting. I'll be rotating between students giving tips and helping you make subtle, real-time adjustments that will elevate your Counter-shape technique in class. Students say it's like a mini-1:1!

Prerequisite: Current student. Foundations of Loo Movement or equivalent.

Bonus! You can use a credit from your Alignment Techniques/Reformer package.

Stay curious,
