If you are a Loo Movement nerd who wants to practice, clarify, and improve your technique, this pop-up event is for you!

Bring your yoga mat. Comfy props will be provided.

Prerequisite: Foundations of Loo Movement or equivalent, current active Loo Movement student.

Pre-registration required.

Root to Rise: Gentle Loo Movement and Sound Healing for the Spring Equinox

Friday March 20th
5:30-6:45pm

Root to Rise reflects the rhythm of the spring equinox, a time of balance and gentle emergence, where we reconnect with our foundation while opening to new energy and growth.

In the first half of this special event, Valerie will guide you through gentle, restorative Loo Movement Counter-shapes designed to ground the body and create space for ease, relaxation, and better alignment.

For the second half, certified sound practitioner Laura Moir will introduce her healing vibrations with crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. Her sound bath will calm the nervous system and support a sense of openness and flow, inviting you to tune into the energy of the spring equinox.

At the end of the event, there will be time for those who wish to part ways in silence...or tea for those who wish to stick around, learn more about sound healing, and try out the instruments.

Bring your yoga mat. Comfy props will be provided.

Bonus! You can use your Techniques class/Reformer combo package for this event.

*For this special event, cancel 3 day in advanced to receive a credit for future use.

Loo Movement Spine Mobility & Stability
with Valerie Loo, PT

Part 1

Saturday May 2nd
2-3:30pm

If your back gets sore after sitting for long periods or working out too hard, or your neck and shoulders are stiff after being at the computer for too long, this workshop is for you!

In this workshop you will learn about how to stay injury-free and how to improve your spine flexibility, strength, and alignment, which is one of the best ways to increase your overall resiliency. Spinal awareness is also essential for improving your posture. We need both mobility and stability to have a healthy back and neck. The fact is, most injuries (knee, hip, shoulder, etc) benefit when we improve support from the spine, so focusing on optimizing this area is great for everyone.

In part I of this workshop series, Valerie will teach you the different planes of movement of the spine so that you can understand when the spine should be strong and when it should be flexible.

Prerequisite: Foundations of Loo Movement or equivalent

Cancellation Policy:
For this special workshop offering, cancel 3 days in advance to receive a credit back.

Part 2

Saturday May 9th
2-3:30pm

In part II, Valerie will dive deeper into the nuances of how to correct your spinal misalignments and how to use Counter-shapes to reinforce these improvements. You’ll walk away with a better sense of how to have a strong back, good body mechanics, and better posture.

If you’re interested in continuing to expand your awareness of how to move well, this workshop is for you!

Words from Workshop Students

"Valerie has taken physical therapy to a whole new level! In the Hip & Pelvis Workshop, something really clicked for me, and I learned how to correct my pelvic misalignment with more precision, which made a huge difference. As a fellow physical therapist, I appreciate how she uses Counter-shapes to address the whole body to change our habitual patterns. I am no longer having intermittent instances of low back muscle tightness and pain. This is after many years of trying to figure out my low back pain. Amazing! I do the Counter-shapes at home several times a week. This helps me ward off any pain from gardening or challenging physical activities. I am forever grateful!"
