Loo Movement Knee/Ankle/Foot
with Valerie Loo, PT
Part 1
Saturday January 24th, 2026
2-3:30pm
Do you feel like your knees, ankles, or feet could use a system upgrade?
If you’ve experienced joint strain with exercise, or your knees/ankles/feet are sore after running or long hikes, for example, it is likely that you need to improve your joint stability and alignment, so that you can continue these activities more comfortably.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn specifically chosen “Counter-shapes”, body poses that counter our habitual postures, that elongate tight muscles and strengthen underdeveloped ones. Valerie Loo, licensed Physical Therapist, Pilates, and Yoga instructor, will teach you basic anatomy and biomechanics of the knees/ankles/feet so that you can expand your knowledge of how to improve flexibility and joint alignment to improve performance.
You’ll leave with home-exercises to practice what you've learned and maintain the benefits you experience in the workshop.
Prerequisite: Foundations of Loo Movement or equivalent
Cancellation Policy: For this special workshop offering, cancel 3 days in advance to receive a credit back.
Part 2
Saturday January 31st, 2026
2-3:30pm
In part II of the workshop series, we’ll get more personalized. Valerie will teach you to better understand how to strengthen this kinetic chain exactly where you need it, and to identify where you need more mobility to allow for better alignment.
Even if you’ve done these Counter-shapes before in class, this workshop will elevate your effectiveness to the next level. You’ll walk away with a better sense of how to recognize good alignment and posture. You’ll probably feel taller, too!

Root to Rise: Gentle Loo Movement and Sound Healing for the Spring Equinox
Friday March 20th
5:30-6:45pm
Root to Rise reflects the rhythm of the spring equinox, a time of balance and gentle emergence, where we reconnect with our foundation while opening to new energy and growth.
In the first half of this special event, Valerie will guide you through gentle, restorative Loo Movement Counter-shapes designed to ground the body and create space for ease, relaxation, and better alignment.
For the second half, certified sound practitioner Laura Moir will introduce her healing vibrations with crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. Her sound bath will calm the nervous system and support a sense of openness and flow, inviting you to tune into the energy of the spring equinox.
This gathering offers a nourishing way to honor the seasonal shift, restore your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself as you move into spring. Come root down, rise up, and step into the season feeling supported and renewed.
Bring your yoga mat. Comfy props will be provided.
Bonus! You can use your Techniques class/Reformer combo package for this event.
*For this special event, cancel 3 day in advanced to receive a credit for future use.

Words from Workshop Students
"Valerie has taken physical therapy to a whole new level! In the Hip & Pelvis Workshop, something really clicked for me, and I learned how to correct my pelvic misalignment with more precision, which made a huge difference. As a fellow physical therapist, I appreciate how she uses Counter-shapes to address the whole body to change our habitual patterns. I am no longer having intermittent instances of low back muscle tightness and pain. This is after many years of trying to figure out my low back pain. Amazing! I do the Counter-shapes at home several times a week. This helps me ward off any pain from gardening or challenging physical activities. I am forever grateful!"
