Celebrations of The Year!
Hi Friends,
As we’re nearing the end of 2023, I’ve been reflecting on all the amazing work that you have all done this year. With the proactive rehab mindset of Loo Movement, you get back what you put in and I feel inspired and proud of seeing you all learn, progress, and build on your body awareness skills. Clients come to me with all types of goals or something they’d like to work on, whether it’s to get stronger, more flexible, or improve alignment so they have less pain. I’d like to share a few stories of two specific clients to inspire us all!
Anita is an impressively experienced Loo Movement practitioner who shows up with strength and flexibility goals that she consistently accomplishes. She is a CrossFit athlete and runner, and enjoys riding her bike around town and being active in general. When she first came to me, she lacked the flexibility to be in a low kneeling position, so one of her goals this year was to be able to kneel and sit on her heels comfortably. We did this by stretching her hips, knees and ankles, improving her spinal mobility, and improving overall alignment. We’re both so happy about this accomplishment!
Randy is a 1:1 client who also became a regular in Small Group Pilates Reformer class. After adding running to his fitness routine, he began to experience hip and knee pain and came to me to work on his imbalances. We created Loo Movement counter-shapes for Randy to address his specific movement patterns, and I coached him to recognize and respond to any symptoms during workouts. As he got stronger, he started attending Reformer class and was able to apply what he learned in 1:1 sessions to elevate his class experience. This combination of personalized and group class is optimal for seeing improvement faster!
I hope that these stories bring you cheer and motivation. No matter what your wellness goals are for 2024, I’d love to help you reach them.
Keep moving and stay well,
Valerie Loo, PT
